Donatella Rettore (Castelfranco Veneto, Italy, 8th July 1955) is an italian singer and songwriter. After moving to Rome, during the year 1974 she had her debut at the "Festival di Sanremo", the national festival of italian music. In 1976 she released her first success, the single "Lailolà" that sold more than 5 million copies in Italy and countries abroad (especially Switzerland and Germany). The year after she went back to the "Festival di Sanremo" but unlike her first visit, this appearance brought no glory and her first two albums did not get a good response.
