The Redskins were a British band of the 1980s, notable for their Marxist politics, anti-racist / anti-Nazi stance and catchy, danceable songs. Thier live performances at GLC gigs in the 1980s were renowned for their energy and raw power. Their music combined influences from soul music, rockabilly, pop music and punk rock. The band formed in York in the early 1980s (from the ashes of punk band No Swastikas), with Chris Dean (vocals/guitar), Martin Hewes(bass/backing vocals) and Nick King (drums).
