Originally known as The Country Cousins, Forever Amber was formed in the mid 1960s in Cambridge, England. For much of its existence, the band played covers at local ballrooms, US air bases and Cambridge colleges, but in 1968 Forever Amber recorded a 16 track concept album called "The Love Cycle", written by local musician John Hudson. Only 99 copies were pressed (to avoid purchase tax)and original copies now change hands for many hundreds of pounds. Sadly, the band imploded in 1969, but in the 1980s the album became a cult classic, particularly amongst fans of British psychedelia.
