Emily Haines is the lead singer of the Canadian band Metric. She is also a part-time member of Broken Social Scene. She has contributed backing vocals to albums by other Broken Social Scene alumni, such as solo albums by Jason Collett and albums by Stars. Emily is a daughter of Canadian poet Paul Haines and sister of Canadian television journalist Avery Haines. She was born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Canada.
