Funanori is a project helmed by Kaori Tsuchida (guitarist/multi-instrumentalist with The Go! Team and Yumi Yumi) and Mike Watt (bassist with The Minutemen, fIREHOSE and Iggy Pop & The Stooges). The project was spearheaded by Tsuchida when she proposed a recording project centerd around her playing the sanshin to Watt. Tsuchida recorded most of her parts at her home studio in London, England, and would then send the diigital mutli-track files to Watt, who would add his bass parts in his own home setup in San Pedro, CA.
