Richard Hugh Blackmore (born in Weston-super-Mare, April 14, 1945) is regarded as a highly influential and respected English guitarist. He was a founding member of Deep Purple, then went on to form his own band, Rainbow. He then went on to found Blackmore's Night, together with Candice Night, a platform that enabled him to excel at medieval acoustic folkrock as he had previously done at hardrock.
