MARKUS GARDEWEG If you hear the name Markus Gardeweg, the first thing you think of is a “pioneer” in music, an outrider and avantgardist. Markus Gardeweg is an innovator in the of dance and house music scenes. He is a symbol of “the finest club sounds” and has played his part in elevating house music to a new level. But the name Markus Gardeweg also stands for “Kontor Records”, the Hamburg based dance label and the most successful of its kind in Germany today. But lets start at the beginning: At the age of 12, Markus began collecting vinyls and organised his first disco evenings.
