During the 2008 election, John Legend and The Roots had the idea to work on a collaborative album together and their first album, Wake Up!, was released on September 21, 2010. The album will feature the prolific hip-hop outfit covering protest songs and conscious soul classics from a variety of artists from the 60s and 70s. Though a tracklist has yet to surface, Billboard reports that the album will include Marvin Gaye's Wholly Holy, Donny Hathaway's Little Ghetto Boy, Baby Huey and the Babysitters' Hard Times, and Mike James Kirkland's Hang on in There.
