Emeli Sandé is a scottish singer. A former medical student, Sandé has achieved two top 10 singles in the UK, by collaborating with rapper Chipmunk on his song "Diamond Rings" in 2009, and then with Wiley on his 2010 single, "Never Be Your Woman". She supported Solange Knowles on tour. The Heaven Songfacts reports that she signed her first major record deal with Virgin Records in 2010 before signing another deal with EMI in 2011. Her debut single, Heaven, was released on August 14, 2011.
