While Marcella Detroit (born Marcy Levy) is primarily known as one half of Shakespear's Sister (providing the lead vocals for their greatest hit, Stay) she has had much wider career.
She started out playing in Bob Seeger and Eric Clapton bands (writing the hit Lay Down Sally for Clapton along the way), but has also released four solo pop albums, cameoed in Absolutely Fabulous, and added her distinctive voice to tracks by people like Alice Cooper,Arethra Franklin, and even the Simpsons.
