Little known outside record collecting circles, Eugene Wallace is a gifted songwriter and a powerful singer with a raw yet soulful voice who perhaps had the misfortune to sound a little too much like another famous singer, Joe Cocker, with whom he was often compared.

Wallace was born in Limerick on 31 August 1950 and began playing in local bands as a teenager. He was a member of Sweet Street, a West Coast style psychedelic band active 1967-69 approx with Johnny Fean (pre Horslips) and Joe O'Donnell (pre Woods Band) Read more on Last.fm
