Wash originate from the surf beaches of Tauranga (now based in Auckland), New Zealand. For over eight years they have been working together to develop their own distinctive sound - take a little rock, a little punk , a little fat analogue synth, a dash of new wave, and a few hardcore tricks, throw them all together and you can smell what WASH have been cookin' in their kitchen.
In 1996, the first E.P titled 'sandjacket' was released. It was produced by the band, and the 8 songs were recorded at Villa Studios in Rotorua, New Zealand.
