The Righteous started out as a five piece punk band in 1995, in Roslagen's shithole Rimbo, one hour drive from Stockholm, under the name Genetic Garbage. After having recorded a demo entitled "Formerly Known as The Boppers", they got invited to play a gig at Smash the Discos in Stockholm (back then the only oi! club in Sweden, where bands such as Clockwork Crew and Dims Rebellion played some of their first gigs, and Agent Bulldogg did one of their last gigs along with Guttersnipe).
