Edison Machado (died in Sep 15, 1990) was a great Brazilian drummer. Made school in bossa nova and samba, being considered the inventor of " samba in prato". Played in the Beco das Garrafas with practically all the musicians of bossa nova in the end of years 50. The record launched in 1963 " Edison Machado é Samba Novo". In the decade of 70, forgotten in Brazil, moved to Europe, and of he followed there for the United States, where he popularized the samba-jazz. He formed Edison Machado Quartet, who if presented in the most famous club of jazz.
