Rebecca Barnard and guitarist husband Shane O'Mara, long-running collaborators with Stephen Cummings and others, led the Australian indie band Rebecca's Empire throughout the 1990s. In 2006, Barnard released her first solo album, 'Fortified', featuring a more laid-back sound, incorporating blues, pop and country influences. This was followed in 2010 by 'Everlasting', a smooth, sophisticated adult pop record, produced by jazz pianist Barney McAll.
