The Statler Brothers were a Grammy award winning American country music group founded in 1955 in Staunton, Virginia. Consisting of Lew DeWitt, Don Reid, Harold Reid, Phil Balsley and Jimmy Fortune they are perhaps best known for being the opening act for Johnny Cash for eight years, and their hit singles Flowers on the Wall and the socially conscious Bed of Rose's. In their 47 year career they released over 40 studio albums, won three Grammy awards and were inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in 2008.
