There are at least four Davenports under this name. The Davenport Family (Madison, WI) The Davenport Family was a collective centered around clay ruby and a group of rotating musicians based in Madison Wisconsin. They play mainly improvised rituals and like to record anywhere but a studio as this adds unique artifacts to the recordings. The Davenport Family name existed actively until 2005, all original members still participate in the band, which now operates (apparently even releasing music that was recorded previous to the name change) under the name Second Family Band.
