Donnie Fritts (born Nov. 8, 1942, in Florence) was a session player and songwriter in Nashville. That's where Fritts became acquainted with Kris Kristofferson, as well as Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and John Prine.
Fritts spent more than 20 years as the keyboard player in Kristofferson's band.
