In the beginning (at 12/04/1999 probably), this band was known as “Os Democratas”, but another band was already called that. Without a name for the band, Lucas (lead singer, guitar) heard the name FRESNO on ESPN and liked it. Since then, the band has been called Fresno. Fresno is also the name of a city in California, the name of a tree, and the name of a river. (and that was the motive for the name of the second cd, "O Rio, A Cidade, A Árvore"., which means exactly “The River, The City and The Tree”)
