German musician born in Wiesbaden in 1963. Learned to play guitar, keyboards and flute, occupied with music since the late 1970s. Initially worked on electronic and new age music, later turning more experimental. In 2010, Mathias Grassow collaborated with Agalloch on the compilation Der Wanderer über Dem Nebelmeer.
