There are 5 bands with the name Rot 1. Probably one of the best known South American grindcore acts, coming from Brazil. As opposed to lots of such extreme bands, they belong to the "political" grindcore scene in terms of lyrics and themes. They have recorded splits with bands such as Agathocles, Depression and Yacøpsæ. (edit: the band's official MySpace says "The lyrical part is very important to the band, showing a very sceptical, sarcastic and radical feeling towards life and society in general.
