Billy Squier (born May 12, 1950, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts) is a rock musician. Squier had a string of arena rock and power ballad hits in the 1980s. He is probably best known for the song "The Stroke" on his 1981 album release Don't Say No, which has been certified as Triple-Platinum by the RIAA. Other hits include "Lonely Is The Night", "Everybody Wants You", "Rock Me Tonite" and "In The Dark". Squier left the music industry in the mid-1990s, due in part to issues with his label.
