1963-present Ajda Pekkan (born 12 February 1946) is a Turkish singer whose career spans over more than five decades. She is known as "superstar" in Turkey and got this title by her album named SUPERSTAR which was released in 1978. After a short movie career she started singing and she has been at the center of the Turkish musical scene since 1965. A star of both stage and screen, Pekkan's repertoire extends well beyond Turkish folk and popular music to embrace styles such as French chanson. It made her the first Turkish singer ever to perform in Olympia, Paris, France in 1976.
