Deanna Bogart, born September 5, 1959, Washington, D.C., is a blues singer, pianist and saxophone player. Drawing on a variety of musical sources ranging from boogie-woogie to New Orleans R&B to swing to rock and roll, Bogart emerged as one of the most eclectic performers in contemporary blues. She cut her teeth on the Maryland roots music circuit, including touring and recording with the Western Swing-influenced Cowboy Jazz . Following that band's breakup in 1986, Bogart played with Washington, D.C. bluesman Root Boy Slim.
