bloodthirsty butchers are a Japanese indie rock band formed in 1987. Consisting of (last+first name order) Yoshimura Hideki on guitar and vocals, Imoriya Takeshi on bass, and Komatsu Masahiro on drums, their first three albums were mostly abrasive punk with loose song structure. Their 1996 release "Kocorono" recieved considerable acclaim and refined their sound into more conventional indie rock, and is often considered the butchers' best album. Mikansei and Sankaku EP were released in 1999, and the band toured with fellow indie headliners Number Girl and Eastern Youth.
