There is more than one group named Ginnungagap. The 1st Ginnungagap is an ambient side-project from Seattle, Washington, United States of Stephen O'Malley (Sunn O))), Lotus Eaters, Khanate, among others) formed in 2002. The music is a less guitar oriented version of drone, utilizing many middle and far eastern instruments and keys. They have recorded two full-length albums and two EPs since 2004. The original lineup: Stephen O'Malley - guitars, bass guitar;
Steve Pittis - drones;
Dawn Smithson - vocals;
