Pieter Hellendaal (Rotterdam, born april 1, 1721 - died april 19, 1799) was a Dutch composer, organist and violin player. In 1732 he became the organist of the St. Nicolaas church in Utrecht. From 1737 to 1743 he studied with Giuseppe Tartini in Italy. In 1751 he went to London, where he stayed and gathered some fame as a musician. After 1762 he mainly lived in Cambridge, where he gave concerts. In 1777 he became the organist of the Peterhouse Chapel.
