Pictorial Wand, and the album "Sleeper's Awakening," are the vision of musician Mattis Sorum. He wrote and recorded the album while attending the University of Trondheim. It took three years, and the help of seventeen other musicians, and singers. Luckily it was music he was studying, so there was a good supply of talent. It is a lengthy concept piece, with the familiar theme of self-realization. There are similarities to Ayreon and Glass Hammer.
