Born Delectus Clark, Blytheville, Arkansas in 1938, (died December 7, 1990, age 52). He made his recording debut at the tender age of 14 in 1952. His first minor hit came in 1959 with "Nobody But You", and his greatest success was probably "Raindrops" co-written with his guitarist,the great Phil Upchurch in 1961. His last (UK) chart success was "Ride A Wild Horse" in 1975, one of the early disco era songs.
