Tina May (b. 1961) is an English singer, specialising in jazz. May was born on 30th March 1961 in Gloucester, lived in Frampton-on-Severn when she was young, and attended Stroud High School. She read French at University College, Cardiff, and took vocal studies with Eilleen Price in the music department, almost immediately teaming up with other musicians to form small bands. She joined the Welsh Jazz Society run by Jed Williams, and began listening to a wide range of jazz at local clubs.
